13/12/2017 - 4:39 12459 Views

If, like us, you are one of many millions fans that love and follow Game of Thrones more closely than their own life you’ll probably enjoy strolling through this gallery, finding out what are the real heights of the stars of the show. Without any set-tricks, here is how the men and women of Westeros look when they’re not on set.

Peter Dinklage – Tyrion Lannister: 1,35 m (4’5″)

He may be the shortest character in the whole show, but the importance of his role is enormous. No, really, the show wouldn’t be the same if it wasn’t for him. Tyrion is the youngest of the three adult Lannister siblings, Cersei and Jaime being the other two.

Bella Ramsey – Lyanna Mormont: 1,5 m (4’11”)

The first appearance of Lyanna Mormont was Bella’s first gig ever! And everybody loved her! Her wits, sass and giant army of strong whitewalker-hating men already conquered our hearts and minds. Good things ahead of  you, Bella!

Maisie Williams – Arya Stark: 1,55 m (5’1″)

The young Arya Stark is one of the smartest characters in the show, with her long quest to become a Faceless Man she showed us how strong and independent a little girl can be. Needless to say, young Maisie’s career has already sky rocketed, and now she is one of Hollywood’s brightest prospects.

Emilia Clarke – Daenerys Targaryen: 1,57 m (5’2″)

The Mother of Dragons, one of the stars of the show. Even when she takes the platinum-blonde wig off, her beauty remains of a special kind, even though her character (and personality, it seems) changes completely. The role of Khaleesi in GoT has earned her the status of showbiz superstar, among with many offers for big roles in the industry.

Faye Marsay – The Waif: 1,57m (5’2″)

Without the attempted murders that the Waif tried on Arya, the younger Stark girl could’ve never become the Faceless Man. Her contribution was so crucial the the moments after their confrontation are the most important in Maisie Williams character’s development.

Sibel Kekilli – Shae: 1,63 m (5’4″)

Her character, very well portrayed, is that of a royal concubine. Basically a high end prostitute, who eventually fell in love with Tyrion Lannister. To protect their relationship from his family’s power games, Tyrion assigned her to be Sansa Stark’s handmaid.

Michelle Fairley – Catelyn Stark: 1,65 m (5’5″)

The Stark matriarch, she is murdered along with her son and her pregnant daughter-in-law (along with all their entourage) at Blackwater as Lord Frey was looking for his revenge after Robb canceled the marriage between their respective families.

Nell Tiger Free – Myrcella Baratheon: 1,65m (5’5″)

The youngest Baratheon is the youngest child of the incestuous relationship between Cersei and her brother Jaime and was poisoned to death by Ellaria Sand, who kissed her after wetting her lips with the Long Farewell poison. Needless to say, Cersei got her revenge in a very romantic way.

Lena Headey – Cersei Lannister: 1,66m (5’5″)

The real, most dangerous villain in the whole series. The Lannister Queen is always plotting the next evil twist to the story, and she always knows how to put her enemies (the “good guys”) in all sort of problems. Even though she has a mean look, she’s an absolute pleasure to deal with in real life, and you really can tell that acting is her life, having done it almost with no breaks since her start in the acting career back in 1992.

Natalia Tena – Osha: 1,66m (5’5″)

Before getting stabbed in the neck by Ramsay Bolton, Osha had a very interesting story line with Rickon Stark, who also ended up getting shot down by Ramsay Bolton right before the Battle fo the Bastards. She’s been around for a while, having acted in the Harry Potter franchise as Nimphadora Tonks, and as Ellie in About a Boy, alongside Hugh Grant.

Natalie Dormer – Margaery Tyrell: 1,68m (5’6″)

She wanted to be the Queen to rule over all of Westeros, but she only ended up on being one of the uncountable victims of Cersei’s cruelty. Fans know her from her role in the Hunger Games where she had no problems with shaving half her head, which is what her role required.

Rose Leslie – Ygritte: 1,68m (5’6″)

The same wildling who claimed that Jon Snow knows nothing is the same that took his virginity and then shot him multiple arrows in the back. Now, Rose and Kit Harrington are engaged and are getting married in a few months.

Gemma Whelan – Yara Greyjoy: 1,68m (5’6″)

After taking part in The Wolfman and Gulliver’s Travels, english actress Gemma Whelan landed the role of Theon Greyjoy’s sister, who’s a very tough woman, leader of the Iron Islands until her uncle came to steal the reigns of the islands from her.

Carice van Houten – Lady Melisandre: 1,68m (5’6″)

She plays a centuries old witch, keeping herself young with a magical necklace she always carried with her. She’s capable of showcasing real talent, making the audience hate her and love her at the same time.

Dean Charles Chapman – Tommen Baratheon: 1,69m (5’6″)

The poor Tommen is the youngest son to result from the incestuous relationship between Cersei and Jaime Lannister. When his mother conspired to destroy the High Septum and killed his wife Margaery, he commit suicide in a very intense scene.

Nathalie Emmanuel – Missandei: 1,70m (5’7″)

The young english actress is face we’ve already seen in the Fast&Furious franchise and the Uk show Misfits. In this show she plays a freed slave that decides to spend her live at Khaleesi’s service, helping the Mother of Dragons to conquer back her kingdom.

Jack Gleeson – Joffrey Baratheon: 1,70m (5’7″)

Undoubtedly one of the most hated TV characters of all time. Being Cersei’s eldest son, when Robert Baratheon died he was named King, only to die two seasons later. When he choked on poison at his own wedding the GoT fandom  celebrated like their team had won the Superbowl.

Indira Varma – Ellaria Sand: 1,71m (5’7′”)

Ellaria Sand is one of the vipers, the female warriors of the Dornish Kingdom, where house Tyrell used to rule. She’s responsible for the premature death of Myrcella Baratheon, enraging Cersei up to the point of capturing her and killing her daughter right in front of her the same way the viper killed Myrcella.

Kit Harrington – Jon Snow: 1,73m (5’8″)

This is the hero of the show, everybody ultimately likes him, everybody cheers for him, and everybody expects his every move with a huge amount of anticipation, even to the point of plotting every possible scenario regarding him. One of the few “starters” to still be alive and kicking (even though he actually died once).

Iwan Rheon – Ramsay Bolton: 1,73m (5’8″)

One of the most violent and perverse characters in the show, the all-round villain played by Iwan Rheon really came to life in the fourth, fifth, and sixth season. After torturing Theon Greyjoy and crippling him into becoming “Reek”, the Bolton bastard turned his attention on the youngest of the Starks, killing him right in Jon Snow’s hand kicking off the battle of the bastards.

John Bradley – Samwell Tarly: 1,73m (5’8″)

Jon Snow’s most loyal assistant and probably the kindest heart in the whole show, Samwell Tarly  is another of the “starters” that are still among us. Even though he looks weak and never managed to stay true to his vows, Samwell is thirsty for knowledge, on top of helping everyone he can, including the removal of the stone plague from Jorah Mormont.

Daniel Portman – Podrick “Pod” Payne: 1,74m (5’8″)

Being a squire for Tyrion Lannister must not be easy, as much fun as the tiny Lannister can be. After saving his life in the Battle of Blackwater, Pod must flee to be at the services of Brienne of Tarth, since Tyrion was arrested with the accusation of murdering King Joffrey.

Diana Rigg – Olenna Tyrell: 1,75m (5’8″)

Being one of the sassiest women in the show is probably not a premonition for a long and worry-less life. But she still managed to bring up one of the most powerful dynasties in the show, and surely the richest. She dies after the Lannisters’ siege at High Garden.

Sophie Turner – Sansa Stark: 1,75m (5’9″)

Now she is the eldest Stark woman in Westeros and we can totally state that she’s one of the most transformed characters; at least in her personality. Together with her show-sister Sansa is now taking the reigns of Winterfell, while Jon is trying to gather an army to fight the white walkers.

Alfie Allen – Theon Greyjoy: 1,75m (5’9″)

One of the most intense characters of the show (and, in my opinion, one of the best actors too). He started as an adopted member of the Stark family, but ended up betraying them trying to gain power over his native kingdom, the Iron Islands. Unluckily, he ended up being Ramsay’s prisoner, who tortured him and mutilated him.

Jacob Anderson – Grey Worm: 1,75m (5’9″)

Grey Worm is the commander of the Unsullied Army, elected by Daenerys herself, of whom he is also the personal protector. He’s got a love thing going on with Missandei that we certainly hope will give us many surprises. In real life Jacob is a musician, working his way up the fame path. Certainly being in the recurring cast of GoT is going to help him quite a lot.

Conleth Hill – Lord Varys: 1,75m (5’9″)

Thanks to his “little birds”, Lord Varys is the major secret keeper in the whole Seven Kingdoms. He’s been a key element in the development of the story and after many seasons, he finally managed to become one of the fans’ favourite. Weird to see him with hair, isn’t it?

Michael McElhatton – Roose Bolton: 1,75m (5’9″)

While being the Lord of Dreadfort, Roose Bolton used the difficult moment in the Stark family to overpower their legacy in Winterfell. He’s also Ramsay’s father, who is a legitimized bastard.

Richard Madden – Robb Stark: 1,77m (5’10”)

He was supposed to be our hero. The people’s hero, embarked on a mission to avenge his father and free the North from the Lannister oppression. Needless to say, he ended up dead in a pool of blood together with his pregnant wife and mother, as a caprice of an offended lord.

Gethin Anthony – Renly Baratheon: 1,77m (5’10”)

Gethin acts as Renly, the youngest of the Baratheon brothers. After Robert died, there was a circumstance in which Renly would’ve become King, so his own brother, Stannis, killed him ruthlessly. He also had a homosexual affair with Sir Loras Tyrell, Knoght of Flowers.

Aiden Gillen  – Lord Petyr Baelish: 1,78m (5’10”)

Already known to the big american audience thanks to his role in The Wire, here Aiden gives life to Lord Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish, one of the royal house’s sleekest advisors. You either love him or hate him, because his ways of dribbling through the dangers of the political crossfires he contributes to create.

Sean Bean – Eddard (Ned) Stark: 1,79m (5’10”)

He WAS the main man of the Stark family, but apparently he was too kind and honest to make it past Season 1. At least his death kicked the show in for a long and violent ride. He was sentenced to death by king Joffrey after telling the truth about him not being an heir to the throne, but the result of incest instead.

Thomas Brodie-Sangster – Jojen Reed: 1,79m (5’10”)

The son of Howland Reed, he decided to dedicate (and sacrifice) his life to the three-eyed raven, whom he believes to be incarnated in Bran. He accompanies him beyond the Wall, to follow his vision and help Bran arrive safely to the three-eyed raven in order to start his formation.

Isaac Hempstead Wright – Bran Stark: 1,80m (5’11”)

Now that his warg powers are really starting to unfold, we can begin to understand why we had to go through 5 seasons of travels around the north, looking for what seems to be a version of the Tree of Life. The show left it pretty clear that in the last GoT season he’ll be one of the crucial characters in the story.

Pilou Asbaek – Euron Greyjoy: 1,80m (5’11”)
